I’m not sure how to answer this without alienating someone that follows me, but I will say that the girl’s tactic isn’t a smart one. The thing she’s boycotting isn’t the sale of cookies, it’s admission of transgender children and encouraging people not to support Girl Scouts hurts more than she’s trying to fix. From the very first year I was a Girl Scout, I’ve used cookie sales to pay my way to Girl Scout camp. My family is very poor, and I relied on cookie credits to make it. I paid for both of my CIT years by selling over 1,200 boxes each year and I couldn’t have done that without the support of customers. There are other girls like that around the world, doing exactly what I’ve done for more than ten years and this girl’s depriving more than just transgender children from achieving their hopes and goals. I refuse to openly state my opinion because I love you guys so much, but I will say that she’s going about making her point the wrong way.
